The Wired Plastic Prepaid Visa Card is a stored value card, issued by BankFIRST. The card is aimed at those who have limited or poor credit and may not qualify for an unsecured credit card. A reward program is available.
The reward program is a rare benefit for a stored value card. Points are earned for all purchases and these can be redeemed for calling cards, ring tones and wireless airtime. There is no limit to the number of points that can be earned and points do not expire.
Customers make payments to the card in advance and a first-time minimum load is required. Direct depositing is free and customers can use online facilities to transfer funds or pay bills. There is no annual fee for this card. A low application fee and a low monthly maintenance charge are applied but overall fees are favorable compared to many cards of this type.
