The Citi Forward® Card for College Students is a student-oriented credit card, issued by Citibank, that rewards consumers for spending wisely. This includes rewarding cardholders for staying within their credit limit and paying on time.
Students who use this card correctly by staying within their credit limit and paying on time will receive 100 bonus points per billing period and a potential reduction of their interest rate. Students receive a reduction of .25% when they make a purchase, stay within their credit limit, and pay on time for three months in a row. Cardholders are eligible for eight reductions, or up to a 2% total reduction.
Bonus points are rewarded for other kind acts. Cardholders get 1,000 bonus points when they sign up for paperless statements within the first 3 months of their account opening.
Citi Forward® Card for College Students also rewards cardholders for purchases. Students receive 5 points per dollar spent at restaurants, book stores, video rental stores and movie theaters, and 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases. Points can be redeemed through the ThankYou network for cash, gift cards, music, electronics and more.
This card comes with a 0% intro rate on purchases for 7 months. After the introductory period, the variable interest rate is reasonable for a student credit card.
